A group of 12 Tibetan Buddhist Society students undertook marvellous travels to southern India in December 2025. The expedition included daily visits to Loden Labrang to meet with young Loden Rinpoche, the reincarnation of Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden – the founder and spiritual guide of the Tibetan Buddhist Society, along with Loden Rinpoche’s guardian Geshe Penpa, and the other resident monks of Rinpoche’s labrang (home and study community).
We hope you enjoy this storyboard, which is supported by a comprehensive report explaining details of the visit. Thanks to the various photographers, Manikam, Michael, Chris, Martin and Anna for their contributions.
Below: Tibetan Buddhist Society students make offerings to Loden Rinpoche after arriving at Loden Labrang (Loden Rinpoche’s residence) in mid December, and Anna greeting Geshe Penpa (Loden Rinpoche’s kind guardian and teacher) earlier in the day.

Below: Lama Tsong Khapa Day – Loden Rinpoche leads the Society’s group in making offerings to all the monks at Sera Je Monastery . These offerings followed the tradition established by Geshe Loden when he regularly visited his monastery during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The next three images depict our group on the steps of Sera Je, inside the great hall and our ordained members of the party with Loden Rinpoche upstairs at Sera Je.

Below: Monks of Demna Khangsten (Loden Rinpoche’s college within Sera Je Monastery) offering food to those in need, stopping for coconut water, and the newly planted Demna Khangsten forest of ‘silky oak’ grevilleas. The food offering was sponsored by Geshe Penpa’s students from Singapore.

Below: Demna Khangsten’s temple (exterior and interior views), Loden Rinpoche and with others upstairs in the main temple in Sera Je Monastic University.
